New fleet and coastal factory will allow the Russian Fishery Company to process up to 100% of the catch into high value-added products

04.06.2018

June 4, 2018, Moscow - The Russian Fishery Company (RFC) launched investment projects under the state program to support the construction of fishing vessels and fish processing facilities with quotas for the extraction of aquatic biological resources provided for investment purposes.

RFC and the Federal Agency for Fishery recently signed the agreements on securing and providing the Company with a share of quota. According to the conditions of “investment quota” program RFC will receive additionally more than 170,000 tons of Pollock and Herring quota once six trawlers-processors and on-shore fish processing factory are commissioned.

Large-capacity trawler-processors, which RFC is building, are designed for more than 50 thousand tonnes of annual catch. Each vessel will be equipped with a modern factory for processing of all the catch into high value-added products, primarily Pollock fillet and Surimi. RFC will invest about $600 million into six state of art super-trawlers construction. Commissioning of the vessels is scheduled for the period from 2021 to 2023.

"The construction of modern large-capacity trawler-processors and coastal processing facilities allows us to process up to 100% of the catch into high value-added products, - said Andrey Teterkin, CEO of Russian Fishery Company. - "We are planning to apply for an investment quota for two more large-capacity trawler-processors, for which the Company has an option, once the Federal Agency for Fishery announce the second action for rest of the Far East “investment quota” allocation".

RFC in partnership with «DV Invest» is constructing “Russian Pollock" processing factory with the daily output of more than 100 tons of high value-added products. The factory will be equipped with modern high-tech equipment and will allow to produce a variety of high-quality fish products. Total investment into the project is estimated at $15 mln. The Company plans to put «Russian Pollock» factory into operation no later than 2020.
